Pass H.R. 550 for Voter Verified Paper Records

Don't except less then this, don't let some dishonest operatives make our paper trail meaningless. Some would prefer the paper trail NOT be the official record, which should be unacceptable. Keep insisting on the most honest elections possible. Hit the above link for info and to take action.

because OUR Democracy MATTERS petition LINK Congress NEEDS to hear what you have to say! Here is a it simple to fill in the form to quickly send your personal message to both of your Senators and your House Representative.
The form even looks them up based on your address, and send them to all the right ones!

The Voter Confidence and Increased Accessibility Act (H.R. 550) should be taken up by the House and passed into law this year; signing this petition will submit the message beneath the form below plus your own personal comments.

Here is what the main concerns are; (used with permission)

I am deeply concerned about the need for transparent, independently auditable, non-privatized, non-vendor-controlled elections and urge you to support legislation that:

(1) establishes a requirement for a voter verified paper ballot created for every vote cast;
(2) establishes a mandatory uniform national standard that states that the voter verified paper ballot -- the only record verified by the voter rather than the voting machine -- is the vote of record in the case of any inconsistency with electronic records;
(3) provides Federal funding to pay for implementation of voter verified paper balloting;
(4) requires a percentage of mandatory random audits in every state, and in each county, for every Federal election;
(5) prohibits use of undisclosed software, wireless communication devices, and internet connections in voting machines;
(6) is required to be fully implemented by 2006; and
(7) protects the accessibility mandates of the Help America Vote Act.

there is a bill that provides for this, and also a bill to render the paper trail MEANINGLESS, right now being considered- so do we want the one where our votes WILL count ot the other bill? Think hard.

Florida's Tom Feeney still trying to destroy OUR democracy!

PETITION! click above link or here;
Feeney's bill the HR 3910 should be rejected because it allows states to decide that a paper trail does NOT have to be used in a meaningful way-It renders the idea meaningless and just a waste of money and paper, which also means voting would be somewhat less meaningful as well.
This is the same guy mentioned in the infamous Feeney/Curtis case concerning his wanting a program to change vote tallies. there are many articles about this; Just google the names.
Feeney implicated in vote fraud
Congressman sought to alter totals, testimony in Ohio case says
Republican Congressman Tom Feeney of Oviedo asked a computer programmer in September 2000, prior to that year's contested presidential vote in Florida, to write software that could alter vote totals on touch-screen voting machines, the programmer said.(Clint Curtis)

Demand that Congress Ensures Accessible and Verifiable Elections in 2006 and Beyond!
Urge Congress to pass HR 550 as written! Tell them our Democracy Matters!Thanks

It is absolutely imperative that the voter-verified paper record must be the official document used for audits and recounts, and in case of discrepancies is the official tally. Unfortunately there are ruthless,dishonest political operatives who will try to corrupt this essential bill and render it meaningless. Don't let them.
